Short Film Friday: How to Eat Your Apple

By Sonaksha Iyengar

The film begins on a delicious note with an apple against a white background. But things take a twist when little objects unfurl one after the other in this animated film that feels like a visual poem. Created by Korean filmmaker and animator Erick Oh based in California, USA, the 1 minute 30 second long surreal film was produced in 2011.

Previously an animator at Pixar Animation Studios, Erick has worked on films like Inside Out, Finding Dory, Brave and Cars 2. His independent films have been recognised at various international film festivals including Hiroshima Animation Festival, Anima Mundi, SIGGRAPH and Annie Awards. Erick currently works at Tonko House. You can learn about his other projects here.
