Music Playlist: Yael Bronner Rubin

By Payal Khandelwal

Welcome back after our mini-break. As promised, we are here with our remaining music playlists – an extension of our Music and Visual Arts cover feature in issue three. This week’s playlist is by Yael Bronner Rubin. Yael, as many of you might already know, is an Israeli contemporary artist who was born in South Africa and now calls Hong Kong her home. We had interviewed Yael last year about all the places that have made an impact on her work as an artist. And through this feature, we got to know how some of the music from different places influences her.

Here’s her very interesting and diverse playlist that she curated especially for TFM:

Amadou & Mariam Dimanche A Bamako

A-WA – Habib Galbi

Omri Matzrfi Layla

Ester Rada- Nanu Ney (see also Life Happens)

Jain – Makeba

Eden ben Zaken – Malkat Hashoshanim

火火的情郎- 赵真vs东方红艳

Cantonese Buddha
